Ok so phones are great for flirting but how do you get the number in the first place. Generally you still have to ask for the number. If you are shy how can you still overcome this first introduction barrier?

I accept that is a problem if you are in a bar or nightclub but you need to think of a reason to get the number, or get a friend to get the number etc. But once you've got it, it's good because then you can text someone and there's not that embarrassing or awkward silence and it gives the other person a chance to let you down gently.

Have you got some text flirting do's and don’ts?

Joanna said:

Do be light-hearted and funny. Don't send it to your mother by accident. Make sure the person understands your text language so that they don't misconstrue it. Don't leave your phone where your friends can get at it and send texts!

Do you text a lot and have you sent any sexy texts to the wrong people?

Joanna said:

An ex-boyfriend - I didn't really get on with a member of his family and I did send a text slagging that member of the family off to a friend but accidentally sent it to him.

Do you ever find it difficult to understand all those abbreviations and text slang?

Joanna said:

I'm rubbish - I don't understand most of them! I am quick at texting though, so I don't need the abbreviations.

Have you ever "text flirted" with someone?

Joanna said:

Yes, I still text flirt with my husband. You can be less inhibited - things that would make you cringe in person you can say in text. I think texting is even more beneficial for men than women as they are shyer about showing their emotions.

What should you do about text messages from people you really don't want to talk to?

Joanna said:

Press delete! Or say you're out of the country.

Joanna said:

I haven't. I wouldn't dump a long-term partner by text, but if they're just someone you've been on a couple of dates with, I think it's okay to dump them by text. I was surprised that Vodafone's research showed that women are more likely to dump someone by text than men.

Do you prefer cheeky humour or straightforward flirting?

Joanna said:

Cheeky humour. Straightforward flirting can be a bit too full on and it might make someone seem a bit over eager.

Have you ever sent any rude pictures by text?

Joanna said:

Yes - but only to my husband. No - I won't tell you what it was of!

Yes, so long as it was done with humour.

I'd have to be really into someone to find that a turn-on. Otherwise, again it’s the over eager thing!

How did you recover from sending the text to the wrong person?

Joanna said:

I was with him at the time and when I heard his phone beep I read the text and deleted it before he could see it, and told him it was a wrong number. Luckily he was quite trusting.

Joanna said:

Johnny Depp. My husband is allowed Jessica Alba! I think it's fine to find other people attractive - it's only human.

Joanna said:

You're always going to get a good response if the text is asking someone to go to the Maldives with you!

How about receiving a text from him first thing in the morning - would that be a good start to your day?

As long as it doesn't wake you up and you didn't send one last thing at night as well; that would be too much.

I think that's nice as it shows a caring side. But I wouldn't text a guy that, as I think that's too much. Strictly for men to do only! You should always respond - to save him worrying.

What are the most bizarre abbreviations you've ever seen?

Joanna said:

To be honest, my friends and I don't really use abbreviations as I think we're too old. I find that it’s more young people that use abbreviations. I guess if you're trying to keep your texts short or not send so many texts then you might want to use abbreviations.

I'm from Surrey but I lived in Cheshire for a few years. I moved back down this year.

I think he deserves to and Sven is going to watch him on Saturday. I think he'd have to play pretty badly to not get picked now, but you never know.

Having just arrived at uni, I'm a bit worried about the best way to keep in touch with my mates who have also gone to other universities around the country, I love chatting to my mates on the phone but I'm worried about the cost, have you got any advice about the best way to stay in touch with friends and family?

My sister is off to Cambridge tomorrow and she has just got a new Vodafone tariff giving her unlimited texts and picture messages so she's got no excuse not to get all the gossip from back home.

I've just finished a film that is a family comedy with Martin Kemp and Denis Waterman. It will be out next year and is called Back in Business.

I've heard of paranoid people who are worried about that but it's actually impossible apparently. I'm more worried about someone reading them off my phone so I'm careful to delete anything incriminating.

Texting too often seems over keen, you always need to appear cool.

God no! I'd be very careful before sending a picture. It's not something I do that often anyway!

I'm still very good friends with Lisa Kay who played Anna and I also got on very well with Sarah Dunn and Marcus Patrick.

I was very flattered when I won Sexiest Female at the Maxim awards, and all the cast used to live together which could be a lot of fun.

Keep it light-hearted, don't text in the middle of the night, don't be obsessive. If it's a private text then double-check whom you're sending it to. Try and be funny. Think about what you'd like to receive.
